Еola Lake – Downtown Orlando

Eola Lake and park, that surrounds it, is considered as a Central park of city Orlando and recognized as its symbol. Park and Eola lake – a picturesque tidy lake in surrounding of skyscrapers, located in Downtown of Orlando, right “in the heart” of Orlando.

Eola Lake Fountain

The original fountain Linton E. Allen Memorial Fountain was built in 1957 and fully restored in 2011. Today Eola lake fountain is the best recognizable symbol of Orlando city.

In a night time fountain comes to life and starts the musically-choreographic water show. Colours of the water and musical themes are changing depending on the season. Fountain’s show starts every evening somewhere at 20:30 and at 21:30, and lasts for about 6 minutes. Time of the beginning can change in different seasons of the year.

Every year, during the Independence Day, on the coasts of lake is organized a celebration with mandatory evening firework above the lake.

Eola lake is belted with a walking path for strollers and runners. This path is 1.44 km or 0.9 miles long, which makes tracking the distance easier for joggers.

Besides walking among the beautiful views of Downtown Orlando and groomed landscapes of the park, visitors can see park from the water, if they will rent a water catamaran in a form of “swan” (15$ for 30 minutes). Every catamaran is designed for five passengers.

One of the most beloved amusement of Orlando’s locals and guests – feeding the white and black swans, ibises and other birds, numerous squirrels and turtles, living in a park, and, also, visiting the concerts and fests in Walt Disney Amphitheatre, found at the west side of park.

In park there is a stylized Chinese alcove, large playground, few snack bars and the Relax Grill, located on the Eola lake’s coast.

Orlando’s citizens like to spend their time on Eola lake’s coasts; here are organized various fests, concerts, charity events, yoga classes on the lawn at 11:00 on Sundays, evening east martial arts classes, and, of course, the weddings 🙂

In March, there is organized a bike race Spin City Classic.

Orlando Farmers Market

Every Sunday – from 10:00 t0 16:00 – in Eola lake park is opened an Orlando Farmers Market – market of the freshest products of farmers and local manufacturers. In 2017 Orlando Farmers Market will celebrate its 30-th birthday.

Visiting the Orlando Farmers Market is a great entertainment for Sunday weekend – here you can take part in entertaining programmes, beer and wine tasting, and just relax in a surrounding of beautiful nature.

Park Iola Lake open from 6:00 to 24:00 everyday

Park is surrounded with the four streets: East Robinson Street, Rosalind Avenue, East Central Boulevard и North Eola Drive.
